The aim of orthodontic treatment is not solely to improve the aesthetics of the teeth and dental arch, but also to correct bite irregularities. Beyond aesthetics, our teeth play an important functional role in our daily lives. Crowding, tilted teeth, and gaps between the teeth are not only aesthetic concerns, but can also increase the risk of developing dental problems later on.
There is a common misconception that orthodontic treatment is only possible during childhood, but thanks to modern technology, orthodontic treatment is also possible in adulthood. Different types of orthodontic appliances can improve the position of the teeth at any age. Although wearing braces is most often associated with childhood and adolescence, age does not actually prevent our teeth from being moved.

During the first consultation, we assess the patient's needs and inform them about the available options. This is followed by taking impressions, X-rays, and photographs, based on which we prepare a personalized treatment plan. During the second consultation, we discuss the treatment plan in detail with the patient and address any questions that may arise.
Once we have selected the most suitable appliance for the patient, we provide or bond it. During the treatment period, follow-up appointments are required every 6–12 weeks for removable orthodontic appliances and every 4–6 weeks for fixed appliances.
Once the active phase of orthodontic treatment is complete, it is important to wear a retainer for a specified period of time.
